I finally worked out what all the fuss was about. One of my friend's (in particular) has been pestering me to get my brows expertly handled for ages!!! I told her gals like me can't get brows like her's. Besides, I consider myself pretty expert and my pencil and gel from the drug store was working just fine!
And they were. But that didn't stop me from giving Alison Jade a go when they were recommended from my agency.
You see, I always thought my brows weren't luscious enough for a professional do-over. I have sparse, fine eyebrow hair which kind of just grow in this unruly fashion so I just k got the hang of using pencil to fill them in and pluck the strays myself. I'd seen enough makeup artists fill in the gaps with powders and pencils, and when they would tweezer for me I would try and maintain that shape for as long possible. I was generally pretty happy and it was so low maintenance that I didn't care to change. I've even had my eyebrows bleached (for a job), but that's another story.
Anyway, I decided to see what all the fuss was about a couple of weeks ago and visited Alison Jade in Cottesloe.
The salon is a funky little boutique and everyone there is super friendly and sweet. They give you a form to fill out asking for all your allergies etc (standard practice) while you get to sip some charming iced T2. Then, you are whisked off into a private room where they wax, pluck, shape, trim, dye and then powder/finish your final brow extravaganza. The treatment is relaxing and there's no discomfort at all. At completion, I was a little apprehensive when my lovely brow specialist handed me the mirror to assess the situation…however, upon inspection I loved it!!!! And they actually looked how I never thought they could!
So now I totally see what all the fuss is about. It's such a simple yet significant overhaul for your face (which I clearly need haha).
I've already booked in for my next visit in 4 weeks time! Can't wait!!!!
Hopefully my next visit is as life altering hehe.
